CO.AS.IT.’s Social Support Activity Groups play a very important part in the life of our elderly: they represent a joyful occasion to make friends with other Italian peers, share a nice lunch and be involved in interesting and stimulating activities, all of this in a safe environment and looked after by professional staff.

In order to offer ever better services and to align with the quality standards recently introduced by the federal government, CO.AS.IT. regularly invests in the professional development of its staff. During the last professional development session, we invited all Regional Coordinators and Assistants from our Social Support Activity centers to participate to a specific workshop on some important aspects within the aged care sector.
The staff had the chance to know each other better, get updated on the latest National directives in the sector, make questions and receive clarifications. It is during these workshops that we often come up with new ideas to make the lives of our elderly more stimulating, especially for those who live alone or are socially isolated.

Through their participation to one of CO.AS.IT.’s centers, our clients have the opportunity to break the vicious cycle of monotony, do some light exercise and improve their mental acuity.
The activities carried out at these centers are varied, inclusive and designed for people with different motor and mental abilities, and they are also suited for those suffering from dementia. We involve all the participants with Tai-chi, Zumba and Aerobics sessions, but also with audiovisual therapy activities, animals, gardening, creative expression and much more. All this brings a visible benefit to all the people who attend our centers. CO.AS.IT. organises these activities in six different locations: Coburg, Essendon, Knox, Parkville, Rosanna and Whitehorse.

In order to participate, it is necessary to be registered with the myagedcare service ( or 1800 200 422) and to request access to Social Support Activity Groups of CO.AS.IT.
